- Where did Peepee come from?
- Who were his real parents?
- Did he know his mom was a dude?

My hypothesis is that his father is a kidnapped American man who got his semen stolen and then put into a Chinese woman. I suppose at times he could have witnessed his mom’s true gender but being a child his mind was as maleable as clay so he could easily have been lied to. If so, he mst have grown up as a teenager with twisted ideas on men and women, and the fact that he later found out that his mom was a guy doesn’t help his situation at all. Right now he is probably a college student with a crazy story to tell his drinking buddies and he’ll probably go look for his true parents later on to find his real roots.(sounds a bit like Catfish and Mandala)

Safe space is a script that talks about the right for any one who is gay and lesbians. However, this is just only for the South Asians, ex: Indians. As for the meaning of Safe Space, it has to deal with all kinds of sexuality persons from young and old. I don’t really like this script much, especially because of Virkham. He is so rude to the people that are sitting around him, especially to Gilbert, a White man who now turns to Hindu. Why is he only concerning about young gays, not old gays. Either young or old, they are still humans and they share the same experiences. They want to discuss about the same topic and experience.Why he as to be so mean like : “But our meetings are only open to gay South Asians only. Sorry.” or “You can’t participate.” or ” I said you’re not allowed to participate.” or “this organization is only for ‘true’ homosexuals” or like he said this is for people who are under 30 and so on. What the hell! He doesn’t know people at all, even if he opens this organization, he lets to hear every stories from manny people. Either a person like Gilbert who is white or not and he is not 29, Virkham has to listen to him. Also it is not because the problem between Northern and Southern india has conflict, doens’t mean the people in both world has to hate each other till the end. This Safe Space isn’t for any body, it’s just for him only. So it isn’t doing anything good at all.

U-win, I think it is a great response. You explained very well that Vikram is prejudice against all other except South Asians and that his actions and behavior is not acceptable.
In the Safe Place script Vikram and Gilbert exchange the following words:

You know, it really doesn’t make much sense to me when gay’s, lesbian’s and all other races besides Caucasians rant about how they are discriminated against. Yet they want to close themselves into their own little group and not associate and educate people outside of their group. Isn’t Vikram discriminating against Gilbert because he doesn’t look like a South Asian? Vikram you’re a hypocrite! Someone has to start the change for acceptance. Maybe it should start with you, Vikram.
The class’s first day of acting out sections of M. Butterfly was on 11/9. After the presentation Marshall’s feed back to the class was to use more movement, props, voice changes, costumes and so on. Before we started acting out our sections of M. Butterfly on 11/11 Marshall went through a series of male/female mannerism demonstrations. I never realized how difficult it could be for a man to act like a woman and a woman to act like a man. The one thing that sticks in my memory until this day is how much space a man needs. I watch my husband from time to time and for sure he takes up more room than I. My hubby better never say how much room I take in the closet anymore. I’ll have to tell him what’s what! Well enough about my rant about closet space. After the class’s man and woman mannerism demonstrations we began acting out new sections with all of Marshall’s recommendations and we all felt the spark and the script coming to life. It was fantastic!

It just sickens me to my stomach to hear or see a woman that won’t leave a man, partner, whatever that totally disrespects her. Then to top it off Helga and some women in the world (past and present) portray this I will do and say anything to make you love me and not divorce me attitude. Get a life! I don’t consider myself a feminist but I am independent and have proven that time and time again. Yes, today I am married but my marriage is strong because my husband I have an understanding. What kind of example is that setting for the people? In a country of democracy we elect or government to work hard for the people. Does that include the government making time for the “Good Old Boys Club” and having extra marital affairs? In my personal opinion affairs take up time and that time would be better spent tending to your countries needs. Seriously, I don’t think the people who elected our government included extra marital affairs as a to do list item to better our country.
